Who is nct?
NCT is a boy group formed by SM Entertainment. The name stands for Neo Culture Technology, a term coined by SM founder, Lee Soo-man, which describes the group's concept of having a limitless number of members and sub-units based in different cities worldwide. As of January 2021, NCT consists of 23 members and four sub-units.
NCT U was the first sub-unit to debut on April 9, 2016, with the single "The 7th Sense". The U stands for "united" and describes the rotational concept of the group. Any member under the NCT brand may participate in an NCT U song.
NCT 127, the Seoul based unit, debuted with seven members on July 7, 2016. They added two members in 2017 then one more in 2018, making them a ten-member group.
NCT Dream debuted on August 24, 2016, as a seven-member and teenagers only unit. As of 2020, their only member who has graduated was added back in and they are now a fixed unit.
WayV, their most recent unit, debuted on January 17, 2019 with seven members. While based in China, their members have also participated in Korean promotions, as seen in the NCT 2018 and 2020 projects.
